Mission StatementThe mission of the New Castle Historical Society is to ensure the preservation of and stimulate interest in the heritage of the Town of New Castle. To this end, the Society: •Collects and preserves documents, photographs, artifacts, oral histories and books relating to the history of New Castle; •Interprets and promotes public understanding of our genealogical, architectural, cultural and historical resources; •Makes these resources available to researchers, students and the general public; •Creates exhibits, sponsors programs and holds special events for the enjoyment and education of those interested in the history of New Castle and the celebration of its heritage. Our board is a working board. All members take a part in some aspect of the museum: designing exhibits, planning programs, maintaining the building and keeping the grounds attractive, serving refreshments during programs, preparing educational events, servicing and upgrading computers and other technology, staffing the museum during opening hours, etc.
