The 1-mile tour features the early history of New Castle, settled in 1623. See the sites of the original taverns and inns, the village shops, fish-drying locations and the little-known first act of the Revolutionary War. Tours start at the village gazebo, next to the New Castle Congregational Church. The church is part of the tour. The tour, which goes at a nice slow pace, ends at the historical museum which you are free to peruse at your leisure.
