Bill Drew was a founding and active member of the New Castle Historical Society. A scientist and entrepreneur, he founded his company in 1969, Automation Systems, Inc. During his youth he spent summers in New Castle and retired here in later years. An incredibly active member of the community, he was also passionate about history, and spent years drumming up enthusiasm, researching and writing articles about local history. |

Jim Cerny is a wayward geographer and enthusiastic digital photographer.
My local connection includes growing up in Portsmouth in the house my great-grandparents built. I spent most of my career in computing support at the University of New Hampshire. I was also adjunct in that Geography Department, regularly teaching cartography. In retirement, my wife of 56 years and I, settled in New Castle where my in-laws lived. I now have the time to indulge my enthusiasms for local history and for digital photography, in the town of unlimited photo-ops. One of my character defects is collecting slide rules and I confess that I’m a book-o-holic. |
